Global Coordinates

Global coordinates locate a surface with respect to the coordinate system of
any prior surface and are particularly useful for optical systems that contain tilts
and decenters. In the example to the left all lenses are globally referenced to an entrance port, whereas the scan mirror rotates with respect to a decentered pivot point. The mathematics for all the required coordinate transformations are performed by OptaliX internally. |
